My lovely friend Victoria has brought me some fresh kale from her vegetable garden. I probably should be juicing it but, feeling naughty, have decided to make kale crisps. And do they disappear! Gone in a flash. Good snacking.
She brought me a few big beautiful kale leaves (approx 150 g). You’ll need some sea salt and chilli flakes. Put the oven on 200c. Wash and dry the leaves very well. They need to be dry to crisp up. Drizzle some olive oil in an oven tray and put in the oven to heat up. Snip the kale into small ‘crisp’ size pieces. When the oil is hot put them in the pan and sprinkle with sea salt and some chilli flakes. You won’t need much as there is a lot of flavour and you can always add some seasoning later if you fancy it. Shake the tray and keep an eye on things as it’s quick to crisp them up and they do burn quickly. A few minutes is all they need. Taste check after a few minutes.
Tuck in to something delicious!
And thank you Victoria!
